Multi-Streaming Technologies, MST: DP 1.2 is supported by LMP USB-C Docks. However, MST with macOS is not supported by Mac (only SST). So you cannot drive two monitors on a single DP port by daisy chain on macOS. In order to show different pictures on two external monitors, you must connect monitor A with DP/MDP and monitor B with HDMI or vice versa. This is true for both Display Dock (17116) and Compact Dock (17113 and 17278). So by using these ports, you are able to have monitor A and monitor B showing each a different picture (and your MacBook Pro another one). Does this clear the picture, hehe?
